If you know Gracen, you know how hard it has been to get her to eat much less try different food. Well, the other day it was time for a snack and Gracen went to the basket to get her normal snack and I hear:
Gracen: Momma what is this?
Me: They are prunes.
Gracen: Can I try them?
Me: Of Course you can!
Gracen: They are kinda sticky momma. They are big too. Are they Daddy raisins, Momma?
Me: No, they are plums.
Gracen: Why aren't they Daddy raisins? They look like Daddy raisins.
Me: Well, they are kinda in the same family.
Gracen: Then they are Momma raisins
Me: No, they are plums
Gracen: WEELLLL, they look like Daddy raisins...
Me: Yes, they do look like Daddy raisins.
(we will learn another day that that prunes are plums)

Cookies...Cookies...Cookies... part 2
We love Halloween and we love cookies around here. Most of all we love to decorate them and make a big mess. Isn't that the fun part? Here are some pictures from the 2nd annual Halloween cookie decorating party. The kids did such a good job and loved making and eating the cookies as you can see by the little orange and black mouths. Can't wait until next year!

It's a Pumpkin Pickin time...
Every year we go to the pumpkin patch to pick out our favorite pumpkins. This is an activity that just kind of kicks off the Halloween holiday at our house. It is such a wonderful time that we get to spend together and we look forward to it very much. Jamie and I love taking Gracen to the patch to see her run around looking for the perfect pumpkin. These are great memories!

TAGGED... oh my
Ok Shalina... here it goes!
First of all, I want to say... This was HARD!
1. My childhood nickname was Pooh or Pooh Bear. My Mom still calls me Pooh even though I am 37!
2. I won a fishing tournament (most weight and big fish) on the 4th of July one year. I won a rod and all kinds of good stuff according to Jamie. He did not win...hee hee
3. I was President of my sorority, Alpha Xi Delta.
4. I am afraid of horses. Yes, I know it is crazy but, I have been thrown TWICE in my life. Once at Girl Scout camp. NOT again though!
5. I can't dive. I know it is pitiful.
6. I was Teacher of the Year in 2002.
7. My first car was a CJ-7 Golden Eagle Jeep. It was exactly like the one Daisy Duke drove and I loved her! Once during a visit to my grandparents when I was eleven, Papa and I came upon this jeep. Without telling anyone else he bought it for me to be my first car. It was our secret and it was a lot of fun not telling anyone! He and I made plans to fix it up and get it ready for me. I think he wanted it more than I did. Well, just a few short months later, he passed away. When I turned 15, I got my learning permit and I learned how to drive the jeep and stick shift! I drove it for several years and knew that he was with me every time I drove it.
I love you Papa!

All I have to say is..."HOT NOW" and your mouth waters.
All I have to say is..."HOT NOW" and your mouth waters. Admit it, you know that is does =)
Over the weekend during our side trip to Pigeon Forge, Gracen decided that she liked doughnuts. I know this is hard to believe, but only recently has she even tried a doughnut. On Saturday, we did lots of fun touristy stuff like play a game of pirate glow in the dark miniature golf, eat at a carousel, find our way out of a gigantic mirror maze, crawl on our bellies through "The Vault" to avoid getting hit by security laser beams, visit an apple orchard and barn, and all Gracen wanted was doughnuts. She talked about them ALL day... Well as we were headed back to the hotel we saw the red glow in the distance of the "Hot NOW" sign. I call it destiny and the rest is history. We now have a little girl who is addicted to the sweet glazed doughnuts from Krispy Kreme. I am so proud! =)
Now, go get a doughnut... you know you want to!

Favorite "Foto" Friday...Halloween
Here are some of my favorite Halloween pictures of Gracen. I love this holiday and I never miss the opportunity to dress her in orange and black! The first picture is not a Halloween picture, but I had to add it... I think it might be her vampire impression.
The Halloween Finger...hee hee
