The making of a snowbunny?

Jamie and Gracen went outside to play in the snow. They tried to sled down the hill, but there wasn't enough snow. Then, they built the cutest little snowman. Well, it sort of looks like a snowman. They used Gracen's beach bucket! My favorite part was the addition of the leaves to make it a snowbunny!

By the way, I added the next picture because I just can't believe how much she has changed over the past year. This picture was take this time last year during our Valentine's Day snow.

It is SNOWING!!!

These are the words I hear coming down the hall this morning as I slept warm and cozy in my bed. "It is SNOWING!!!"... Gracen got louder and louder until she had successfully gotten me out of bed to see the SNOW! SO... here it is!

This is what he really did in Vegas!!

Jamie was supposed to be in Las Vegas working last week. Every time I talked to him he was "running of to another important meeting" he said. Instead of working one of the afternoons, he got to go to the Las Vegas Speedway and participate in the Richard Petty Driving Experience! He had a blast and if you know Jamie, you know this is right up his alley.

All I can say is... Thank God they didn't let him drive!

I want a grilled cheese, Mommy?

As most of you know, Gracen is one of those challenging children when it comes to eating. When she was 9 months old, she stopped eating and has not been adventurous when it comes to food. We have been through the not eating for 2 days phase, eating only bacon phase, eating only round stuff phase (yogurt raisins, gummies, etc), the McDonald's plain hamburger only meat phase to finally now trying most everything. I am ECSTATIC! If you have one of these kids, you can understand the frustration and feelings that I have had for the past 3 years.

How did this happen you ask? Well, while we were skiing with Nancy and Jeff, Nancy mentioned that she had a friend with a child like this. She started a paper chain and wrote the name of each new food that the child tried. When we got home we started our "Happy Food Chain" with Gracen. Over the past two weeks we have seen a huge change. It all started with carrots on the first night. Now there was a little bit of fussing, but we made it through and now broccoli, carrots, sweet potatoes, chicken noodle soup, cheeseburger macaroni, peaches, apples, English peas, peanuts, roast beef, cinnamon toast are just a few new things that have made the chain. But, what made me so happy last night was the request for her very first GRILLED CHEESE! She loved it and it is my favorite thing to eat.

I know it sounds crazy that a grilled cheese is an accomplishment, but you have to understand I have been asking for almost 3 years now. Finally, she said yes!

I am BACK!

It has been too long and I am missing my Bloggin! People have even emailed me asking where did I go? Are you still going to do the blog? I guess I got everyone addicted the all the Holly Happenings during Christmas. Yesterday, for some reason blogger sent out and email to everyone saying Holly is Back! Well, she is NOT... I need at least 11 months to get ready for Holly again. Hee Hee.

Where have I been you asked? Crazy busy! I have been doing some cleaning out and organizing. Mom and Dad are here this week and I put them to work... Dad has been doing all those honey-do things that Jamie is missing since he is in Viva Las Vegas ( I think he planned that!) and Mom has helped me clean out my kitchen and we have reorganized my entire scrapbook room! I am so excited! I will post some pictures later today so that you can share in my excitement.

Hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

Skiing with the Rainers....

For the New Year, we went to Beech Mtn for some sledding, skiing, and fun. The kids had a great time with each other over the weekend and we enjoyed spending time with the Rainer family. It has been a while since we have seen them and it was a lot of fun catching up.
Gracen loved sledding and the snow, but she didn't like the skiing! She didn't like the boots at ALL! Well, I can't blame her. Neither do I... Jamie tried for a little bit to teach her, but she just wanted to play in the snow. So, that is what she and I did. No skiing for me this time. Maybe next time!
